Barron Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station - QLD
LIDAR & Photogrammetry Survey
We completed a LIDAR and photogrammetry survey of Barron Gorge Hydro Electric Plant and the Barron Dam to provide surface data of the cliff face under the Rainforest canopy to identify any rock formations for Clean Co Queensland. We outputted, point clouds, DTM, contours and orthomosaic images.
Due to the dramatic changes in elevation and highly dense Rainforest we used the drones terrain follow capabilities and we mapped with a high overlap so the LIDAR was able to pernitrate the rainforest canopy.
Torres Strait Islands - QLD
Roof Inspections
We undertook roof inspections of multiple schools across Thursday, Horn and Saibai island for Black & More Engineering. All the sites were located near airports, with the closest being only 100m away from the runway, due to our ReOC we are able to operate in restricted airspace. We completed video inspections, point clouds and orthomosaic photos of the schools so that condition assessment could be carried our by Black & More. See example orthomosaic images.
Cairns CBD Silo Inspection - QLD
Engineering Inspection
We captured numerous photos and videos to facilitate the inspection of the silo by an engineer, who would assess its condition for any potential damage. Despite the silo's proximity to Cairns Airport within a 5.5km radius, our Remote Operator Certificate (ReOC) allowed us to conduct the inspection seamlessly. In the past, such an inspection would have incurred exorbitant expenses, necessitating the use of scaffolding, traffic controllers, and the logistical challenge of temporarily closing a major carpark entrance. However, by utilizing drones, we were able to achieve the same results at a significantly reduced cost and within a swift timeframe.
Arnhem Space Centre - NT
Photogrammetry & Promo Photos
Aspect Drones worked with Measure Australia and ELA Space on a multi-day project to complete promo photos and a photogrammetry capture of the Space Centre in the Northern Territory to colorize a LIDAR point cloud. This site was huge, spanning over 750 hectares. We captured over 4000 individual images that will be processed into one high quality orthomosaic image.
School Mapping Project - QLD
Point Cloud & Orthomosaic
Working with Asseti, Aspect Drones has been capturing data of schools across Far North Queensland, we have been providing data for point clouds, orthomosaic maps and videos so that remote building and asset management can be conducted. We have mapped out over 100 schools in FNQ region.
